Bricklight
Trust & boundaries

Bricklight helps buyers verify questions. It does not replace licensed professionals.

We are careful with language because a home purchase is the largest decision most people will ever make. Everything below is the rulebook we hold ourselves to.

What Bricklight does

  • Organize the listing, photos, and disclosures into a single document.
  • Surface estimated monthly costs based on the numbers you provide.
  • Generate question stacks for your agent, lender, inspector, and insurer.
  • Flag items to confirm with official sources.
  • Save and compare reports across homes you're considering.

What Bricklight does not do

  • Provide legal, tax, mortgage, real estate, or insurance advice.
  • Replace your agent, lender, inspector, attorney, or insurer.
  • Pull live MLS data, credit reports, or appraisal values.
  • Predict the future of home prices or interest rates.
  • Guarantee that any home is a good or safe purchase.
Section 03

Status definitions

Every section of every report ends in one of five statuses. Here is what each one means — and does not mean.

  • Offer-ready

The numbers, repairs, and lifestyle inputs you provided fit within healthy buyer ranges. Confirm with your professionals before signing.

  • Offer with conditions

Workable, but specific items must be verified or negotiated first. The report lists which.

  • Pause before offer

One or more inputs you provided fall outside the ranges we use for first-time buyer comfort. Re-examine before continuing.

  • Review needed

An input is missing or contradictory. The report cannot complete this section without it.

  • Confirm first

We've estimated this from public ranges. You should confirm the exact value from the official source.

Section 04

Professional review boundaries

Bricklight is decision software, not a licensed brokerage, lender, inspector, attorney, appraiser, or insurer. We do not employ professionals to review your individual home. The report you receive is generated from the information you provide and from public ranges — it is never a substitute for the inspection, appraisal, disclosure review, or legal counsel that an actual purchase requires.

When a section of your report says "confirm with" a professional, that means you should hire one. Bricklight is best used as the document you walk in with — not the answer you walk away with.

Section 05

Fair housing and location language

Bricklight follows the Fair Housing Act. We do not describe neighborhoods, schools, or buyers in terms of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, familial status, or disability. Our location sections refer only to verifiable, non-protected factors: walk distance, commute time, flood-zone status, school district assignment, and public records.

We will not generate "good" or "bad" neighborhood ratings, "safe" or "unsafe" labels, or anything resembling a steering recommendation. When a buyer asks Bricklight a location question, the response will route them to the official source — district office, FEMA map, or city data portal.

Section 06

Privacy and sharing

  • Reports are private to your account by default. Nothing is shared without your action.
  • Share links are unlisted and can be revoked at any time. We log access for your visibility.
  • We do not sell your data, and we do not sell or rent your contact info to agents, lenders, or insurers.
  • You can delete your account and all associated reports at any time from settings.

See our Privacy Policy for full detail.

Section 07

AI use boundaries

Bricklight uses AI to summarize listings, organize question stacks, and explain estimates in plain language. We treat AI as a draft tool, not an oracle.

  • AI is used to phrase, organize, and explain — never to invent prices, comparables, or facts about a specific home.
  • All cost calculations use deterministic math, not generated text.
  • Where AI summarized a listing or photo, the report shows "based on provided information" and points back to the source.
  • We do not use your reports to train third-party foundation models.
Section 08

Security posture

Security posture

How the service is secured.

Attestation
SOC 2 Type II attestation completed March 2025. Scope: data privacy and availability for the production environment.
Encryption
AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit.
PII retention
Purged 12 months after account inactivity unless the user exports the report to a permanent archive.
RBAC roles
Admin, Agent, Buyer, Viewer.
MFA
Enforced for Agent/Admin accounts through Auth0.
Section 09

Human authority and AI data

Human authority and AI data handling

Bricklight performs no automatic offer submission, document signing, or purchase decisioning. A human must finalize a Reality Report before PDF export.

Client-specific financial inputs are stripped of PII before prompt-tuning. Raw buyer data is not fed into public LLM training sets.

  • Not a buyer agent
  • Not a lender
  • Not an inspector
  • Not an appraiser
  • Not legal, tax, financial, insurance, or real-estate advice
Section 10
